Calendula - Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Aztec, Maya, Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic practices have all touted the healing properties of this flower. If you do a simple search, you will find countless entries in history from all over the world as well as promising scientific studies.
 
Birch Polypore Fungus - Found on Otzi the Ice Man, a body preserved in ice at high elevation in the Alps that was discovered by hikers in 1991. The remains, eventually dated between 3350 and 3105 BCE were found with pieces of Birch Polypore, which was likely being used therapeutically. Fastforward and we see it used by many people throughout northern region of the world (where it appears) for wound healing, internal parasite purging, fire starting, blade honing (known as the "Razor Strop") and more! Studies have isolated anti-inflammatory triterpenoids, a powerful novel antibiotic dubbed Piptamine, as well as promising anti viral compounds that show activity against HIV.
